Wang Fengling, born on May 2, 1954, Han ethnicity, with a bachelor’s degree, is originally from Shenyang, Liaoning. A retired Air Force Colonel of the People's Liberation Army, he currently resides in Beijing. He began working in October 1971, successively serving as a sent-down youth, operator, technician, company commander, staff officer, instructor, department head, deputy chief of staff, assistant researcher at the Research Department of the Air Force Command College, director of a research center at the college, and a specially appointed researcher at the International Military Strategy Center. He is also a specially invited military expert of the China Electronic Science and Technology Research Institute, a specially invited column author for the military magazine “Military Watch Weekly,” a science and technology/expert popularizer for the China Science and Technology Press, and a specially invited senior researcher at the Beijing Lanhai Changqing Think Tank.

Currently a member of the China International Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Association under the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, and a delegate to the 7th National Member Congress of the association (2019); also a member of the Chaoyang District Calligraphy and Painting Research Association in Beijing. Has long been engaged in research on military theory, military technology, and military popular science. Co-authored 12 specialized books including “Air Force Campaign Studies,” “Airborne Campaign,” “Taiwan Air Force: A Comprehensive Survey,” “Japanese Air Self-Defense Force,” “Construction and Development of the Indian Air Force,” “Air and Space Defense in the Information Age,” and “Advanced Weapons: Air Defense Missiles.” Published over 300 military articles in publications such as “Military Academic,” “PLA Daily,” “Air Force Military Academic,” “Air Force Equipment,” “Aviation Magazine,” “China Radio International,” “Study Times,” “Xinmin Evening News,” “Global Figures,” “Encyclopedia Knowledge,” and “Tsinghua University Paper Collection,” and has received more than 40 outstanding awards in military theory research from the PLA, the Air Force, and the Air Force Command College. Since childhood, he has studied calligraphy by emulating famous calligraphic models. For over 50 years, he has diligently explored the essence of Chinese calligraphy in seal, regular, clerical, and running scripts, drawing nourishment from various classical models without interruption. In recent years, his primary focus has been on seal script, while also studying regular, clerical, and running scripts, and seeking new expressive techniques. Artistic Achievements: In 2018, his work “Zhegu Tian • Ode to Reform” was selected for the China International Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Association’s exhibition “New Era, New Journey: Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-Up – Invitational Exhibition of Art Masters,” included in the art album, and collected by the association. In 2019, his work “Qinyuanchun • The People’s Navy Celebrates Its 70th Anniversary” was selected for the Beijing Military Retirees Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition and included in the exhibition album.
In 2020, he donated four calligraphy works to support Wuhan residents in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
