As a legitimate heir to the Liao family's tiger painting tradition, his artwork "Guan Shan Wang" was auctioned for RMB 150,000 and acquired by a collector. Influenced since childhood by his grandfather Liao Jingshi and his maternal grandfather Zhang Manru, he developed a passion for calligraphy and painting, often imitating his grandfather’s style with great delight in painting tigers; he meticulously copied his maternal grandfather’s calligraphic scripts, taking pride in achieving spiritual resemblance. Over decades, he has diligently honed his craft with unwavering focus and deep contemplation, never wearying day or night. His paintings are both form- and spirit-perfect, uniquely styled, frequently marked by strokes of genius that capture the majestic presence and dynamic postures of tigers under varying contexts. His calligraphy is rooted in the Wang style, integrating elements from Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan, Ouyang Xun, and Zhao Mengfu, with particular mastery in running and cursive scripts; he also possesses considerable proficiency in regular, seal, and clerical scripts. His brushwork is vigorous, graceful, and fluid, executed in one continuous flow, evoking the sensation of drifting clouds and flowing water. His calligraphy piece "Elegy to the Heroes of Guandong" won an Outstanding Work Award at the National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition held at the Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
