Personal Profile
Zhang Changjun, art name Nong Min, was born in 1979 on Poyang Lake, Jiangxi. In 1996, he entered the Chinese Painting Department of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, and graduated in 2007 from Jingdezhen Ceramic University with a bachelor's degree in Ceramic Art Design.
First-class Ceramic Art Master of Heilongjiang Province, Jiangxi Master of Arts and Crafts, Jiangxi Senior Artisan (State Level One), China Senior Technician (State Level One), Jiangxi Master of Arts and Crafts. Member of the China Academy of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. Visiting Professor, Department of Fine Arts, Science and Technology College, Jiangxi Aviation University; Member of the China Arts and Crafts Association, Jiangxi Society of Arts and Crafts, Jiangxi Artists Association, Member of the Zhushan District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Jingdezhen, Deputy Secretary-General of Fuliang Painting Academy, Chief Planner of Jingdezhen Art Ceramic Research and Exchange Center, Specialized Painter of Northeast Liaohe Painting Academy, Chief Designer of Jingdezhen Nongmin Ceramic Art Center. In 2014, he invented a new ceramic oil painting material and founded the Nongming Ceramic Oil Painting Research Institute. In 2015, he founded "Yi Guan" by Nongmin. He studied under Master Wang Shoulin, a renowned Chinese artist, master of Chinese poetics, contemporary sinologist, poet, painter and calligrapher, and National Ceramic Art Master. He also learned from renowned masters such as Wang Xiliang, Qiu Han, Xia Ying, and Pan Kaisheng of Jiangxi Arts and Crafts, as well as painters Liu Shouxiang, Liu Tiequan, and Hu Zetao. After more than twenty years of artistic cultivation and guidance from renowned masters, he eventually developed his own unique style, especially expressing another dimension of Poyang Lake’s landscapes and folk customs through the distinctive language of ceramics—particularly in depicting domestic fowl. In the field of new-material ceramic oil painting, he has taken the lead, expanding new expressive techniques and languages in ceramic art. Award-winning works over the years: 1999.12 “Flowers and Birds” won the Bronze Award in the “Macau Reversion” Calligraphy Competition. 2009.12 “Longevity” won the Second Prize in the “New Village Ice and Snow Sentiment Calligraphy, Painting and Photography Exhibition” in Xiangfang, Harbin. 2012, 4th China (Shandong) “Lu Yu Gongfang Cup” Newcomer Award in Arts and Crafts, Gold Award. 2012.10 “Great Luck and Prosperity” won the Gold Award at the 2nd Shandong Heze Art Festival “Jun Tao Cup”. 2012.12 “Memories of Childhood” was collected by Jiangxi Art Museum. 2013 “Memories of Childhood” won the Silver Award at the Jiangxi Arts and Crafts Excellent Works Exhibition for the Spring Festival. 2013.10 “Celebrating Longevity” won the Bronze Award at the 3rd Jiangxi Arts and Crafts “Dujuan Cup”. 2014, New Ceramic Oil Painting “Rhythm of the Forest” (5 chi 6 cun porcelain panel) won the Bronze “Earth Award”. 2014.3 “Unity and Harmony” was collected by Hebei Art Museum. 2014.6 “Yaoli Landscape” was the first to apply for copyright of the new ceramic oil painting material. 2014.9 “Sail” (high-temperature ceramic oil painting porcelain panel) was collected by Jiangxi Arts and Crafts Art Museum. 2014.12 Awarded the title of 4th Jiangxi Master of Arts and Crafts. 2015.7 “Zhu Mountain Visiting Friends Group” was collected by Jiangxi Provincial Museum. 2015.8 “Evening Return” (new ceramic oil painting material) won the Excellent Work Award at the 9th China (Changchun) Folk Art Expo. 2016.3 “Yaoli Landscape” won the Silver Award at the Jingdezhen “Tang Ying Cup” Hundred Flowers Award. 2016.7 “Wondrous Scenery of the South” (underglaze blue-and-white ink-wash landscape) was collected by the Chinese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam. 2017.4 Appointed as a Special Professor of the Fine Arts and Design Major, Science and Technology College, Jiangxi Nanchang Aviation University.
