Chen Zhimeng (Meng), male, was born in Poyang, Jiangxi. He graduated from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute. He is a representative inheritor of ink-colored enamel pottery art, a non-material cultural heritage of Jingdezhen City. A mid-career ceramic artist and professional painter. Member of the China Society of Arts and Crafts. Member of the Ceramic Artists Association. He studied under Li Wenyue, a Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts and National Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritor, and Xia Ying, a National Master of Skills. He has been personally guided and recognized by multiple Masters of Chinese Arts and Crafts.
Chen Zhimeng has been passionate about painting since childhood. Through continuous learning and research in ceramic art creation, he has absorbed the strengths of various schools and developed his own unique artistic style. He specializes in figures and animals, particularly in overglaze ink-colored enamel with gold decoration, depicting immortals, Taoist and Buddhist figures, and literati. He has broken away from conventional stereotypes, infused his works with humanistic spirit, and created his own artistic symbols.
Representative works include Ink-colored Enamel with Gold Decoration: "Eighteen Arhats," "Weimo Yanshou Tu," "Weimo Jushi Tu," "Zen," "Subduing the Dragon Arhat," "Subduing the Dragon and Tiger"... In 2019, he participated in the Advanced Training Program for Jingdezhen Ceramic Art New Cultural Talents — “Jingpiao” — hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Institute of Art Research in Beijing.
In 2019, he participated in the research program on Ceramic Culture and Artistic Innovation Design organized by Jingdezhen Ceramic University and the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. In 2019, he was appointed as a Visiting Professor of the Design of Arts and Crafts Program at the Art College of Gansu Institute of Technology. In 2018, his ink-colored enamel work "Family Heritage" was selected for the exhibition "Cihua Ganpo — Outstanding Ceramic Paintings Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening Up" in Jiangxi Province.
In 2018, he attended the National Art Fund Advanced Training Program on "Ink-colored Enamel Porcelain Techniques."
In 2018, the No. 253 Unit of Jingdezhen City awarded him the title of "Model Supporting the Military." In 2018, he was invited to participate in the Art Enters the Barracks and "August 1st" Military慰问 activities. In 2018, his work "Facing the Wall" was collected by the Poyang Lake Museum for its collection of master paintings and calligraphy. In 2018, he participated in the Jingdezhen "Thousand Ceramic Artists Hand-Painted Vases" Guinness World Record creation project. "Wu," ink-colored enamel with gold decoration, was permanently collected by the Donghai Guanyin Temple in Shanghai in 2018. "Subduing the Dragon and Tiger," ink-colored enamel with gold decoration, won the First Prize in the 2nd Jingdezhen Original Ceramic Art Competition, "Golden Sunflower Cup," in 2017.
"Tiger Power" was donated as an artwork for the "Qingxi Tongtong" charity event in 2014.
"Dominating the Sacred Land" won the Gold Award at the 27th China Beijing International Gift and Craft Fair in 2013.
"Royal Majesty" won the Gold Award at the First Zijing Cup Fine Art Competition in Jingdezhen City in 2012.
"Dragon Roar, Tiger Scream" won the Gold Award at the 11th China International Arts and Crafts Fair in 2010.
His work "Drunk Monk" was collected by the Jiangxi Provincial Museum, among others... He has published multiple academic papers in various magazines. His works are highly favored and cherished by collectors, connoisseurs, and professionals both domestically and internationally.
