Personal Profile
Zhou Jian, courtesy name Jingchuan, art name Yangshan Tang. He graduated from the Department of Applied Arts, Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Communication Design. In 2015, he completed advanced studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in the "Contemporary Art and Criticism" program.Vice Dean and Associate Professor of the School of Art, XinYu University; Vice Chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee for Vocational Art; Council Member of the Jiangxi Provincial Association of Art Critics; Vice Chairman of the XinYu Municipal Artists Association; Vice Chairman of the XinYu Municipal Association of Art Critics; Executive Vice President of the XinYu Kaiming Academy of Painting; Deputy Secretary-General of the Bao Shi Seal Society; Member of the China Democratic Promotion Association; Member of the Eighth and Ninth Committees of the XinYu Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Member of the XinYu Municipal Committee of the China Democratic Promotion Association.
He has won the Gold Prize at the Second and Third Jiangxi Provincial Graphic Design Biennale, the First Prize at the Seventh and Eighth Jiangxi Provincial Art Achievement Competition, the Excellent Award at the National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC; his work was selected for the 13th National Art Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Culture, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the China Artists Association; he participated in the First Jiangxi Provincial New Ink Art Invitational Exhibition, the Xiamen "BRICS" Contemporary Art Exhibition, the Xiamen Strait两岸 Calligraphy and Painting Invitational Exhibition, and the Wuhan Colorful Art Invitational Exhibition. He has authored numerous articles on fine arts and art design criticism in leading academic journals such as Art Review, Fine Arts News, and Art Connoisseurship.
