Fan Wugao, born in June 1972, is a member of the Communist Party of China with a bachelor’s degree. He is a senior lecturer, marketing specialist, member of the Nanchang Calligraphers Association, Jiangxi Provincial Calligraphers Association member, and member of the China Association for Couplets Studies. He is the first practitioner-author in China’s insurance industry, author of “The Thirty-Six Stratagems and Life Insurance Marketing”【published in 2003 by Guangdong Economic Publishing House】. In March 2019, his calligraphy work “Revival” was collected by the Jiangxi Provincial Museum; in April 2019, he was featured in a special feature in Chinese Talents magazine 【a central-level media outlet, also known as the Red Wall Magazine】 titled “Fan Wugao — The Firefighter of the Insurance Industry”; in January 2020, he was invited to write the large-character calligraphy piece “Revival” for Jinggangshan University, which was subsequently collected.
His works have won the Second Prize in the National Fine Arts Competition, the First Prize in the Virtuous and Artistic Master Calligraphy Competition, the Second Prize in the China Red Calligraphy Exhibition, and the Second Prize in the Calligraphy Exhibition Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.
His calligraphy exhibits balanced density and spacing, stable center of gravity, uniform gaps, and a three-dimensional sense of roundness and depth, combined with a style that employs central brush strokes for strength and side brush strokes for elegance. Since October 1995, he has been working in the insurance industry, progressing from sales representative to supervisor, branch manager, branch company head, middle-level management team member, department head at the provincial company, and finally head of the training department at the headquarters. He has served Ping An Life, Taikang Life, AIG, China Pacific Insurance, Taiping Life, and People’s Insurance Company of China. He is currently serving as the interim head of the Nanchang Central Branch of China People’s Life Insurance. He has worked in the insurance industry for 24 years in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Jiangxi, and other regions.
