 Xu Zhenhua, female, born in September 1970 in Shanghai, is currently a council member of Huichang County Artists Association in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. In 2007, she was honored as a "typical example of mass entrepreneurship." Since childhood, she has learned paper-cutting art from her father. Over the years, she has devoted considerable effort to exploring and researching paper-cutting, creating many beloved works: In March 2012, her piece "Phoenix Facing the Sun" won an excellence award at Huichang County's painting and calligraphy exhibition titled "Ink and Colors Singing Praises to the Party’s Grace"; "Success Comes with Horses" received an excellence award at the Third Art Festival Exhibition in Ganzhou City; in September 2016, her work "Qinyuan Chunxue (Ode to Snow)" won an excellence award at Ganzhou City's First Online Art Festival for Workers themed "Chinese Dream · Beauty of Labor"; in August 2017, her paper-cut portrait of Mao Zedong earned an excellence award at the painting, calligraphy, and photography exhibition marking the ninetieth anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party, titled "Fragrant Ink Expresses Double Support, Light and Shadow Build Dreams Connecting Hearts." In 2018, she won third prize in the First People's Artist Selection Competition. Since 2014, she has been long-term hired by institutions including Huichang County Cultural Center, Huichang County Special Education School, Huichang County Senior University, and Huichang Children's Education Center as a professional "handmade paper-cutting teacher," playing an important role in encouraging more paper-cutting enthusiasts to participate in and inherit the art of paper-cutting and enrich public life. Every year, her paper-cut artworks are displayed during the most solemn Lai Gong Temple Fair. She specially created a calligraphic and scenic paper-cut artwork titled "Voice Resonating Through Mountains and Rivers" for renowned Taiwanese playwright Stan Lai. Gradually, her paper-cut creations have become gifts presented by the county to foreign guests, and an increasing number of international friends have begun collecting her works.
