Personal Profile
Chen Jianchun (Chunjiang Mingyue): Member of the Jiangxi Branch of the Chinese Painting Society, Member of the Jiangxi Writers Association, Vice President of the Wuxi Cultural and Educational Promotion Association. Born in Lianhua County, Jiangxi Province—the only county in China named after a flower—Chen leads a life free from pretentiousness or pursuit of fame and fortune. Endowed with an innate talent for painting, he is self-taught and particularly devoted to ink paintings of lotus flowers, which exhibit the grandeur of a master artist.  Early in his career as a journalist, he produced abundant literary works. In recent years, he has become deeply immersed in traditional Chinese painting, diligently studying and emulating Badashanren, absorbing the spiritual essence and brushwork of the Buddhist monk Badashanren. He believes that Chinese painting must possess a sense of atmosphere, one derived from scholarly knowledge and natural transformation into art. His brushstrokes are refined, harmonious, and full-bodied, achieving both form and spirit. The lotuses he paints are elegant, ethereal, and transcendent, as if emerging from the celestial pools onto the paper.  His works have won multiple awards and have been frequently featured in charity auctions, collected by foreign enthusiasts as well as domestic libraries and television stations. He has been the subject of special features on Jiangxi Television and covered by numerous media outlets. Among works by female artists, his pieces hold exceptional investment and collection value.
