Xu Chengyuan
Personal Profile
Xu Chengyuan, born in 1962, is a member of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. He began studying calligraphy and seal carving in the early 1980s, and for several decades has regarded calligraphy and seal carving as his spiritual sanctuary, cultivating his character and temperament through them. He has long studied the seal scripts of Qing dynasty calligraphers, later drawing inspiration from Warring States bronze inscriptions and bamboo-slip and silk manuscripts. Under the meticulous guidance of Mr. Ning Shuheng, and with instruction from Mr. Liu Jinkai, Mr. Gao Qingchun, Mr. Cui Shenghui, and others, he has gradually developed his own style of seal script. His works have been awarded or exhibited more than a dozen times in national calligraphy exhibitions; his works have also been published multiple times in Calligraphy Newspaper and Shijiazhuang Daily.
