Wang Zecheng, originally named Zedong, was born in 1981 in Pancun, Leping City, Jiangxi Province. He is the pioneer of ceramic internal painting in Jingdezhen. He has been specially appointed by Jingdezhen Yuchengxuan Ceramic Culture Communication Co., Ltd. as: Wang Zecheng, Senior Artisan of Ceramic Internal Painting, awarded the honorific title: "Ceramic Internal Painting — The Unique Craft of the Porcelain Capital." He is also a Jiangxi Provincial Artisan and Senior Artisan. The Shanghai-based "Zhangdao Watch" Investment Company has awarded him the title: "Master of Ceramic Miniature Painting." In 2012, he was honored by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund as a "Charity Ambassador." He is a member of the Jiangxi Artists Association and currently serves as a researcher at the Jingdezhen Ceramic History Research Institute, a member of the Jingdezhen Artists Association, and a researcher and director of the Ceramic Bottle Internal Painting Studio at the Jingdezhen Gaoling Ceramic Research Institute.
In 1997, he studied landscape painting under Shi Bingshou, a Senior Artisan of Jiangxi Province.
In 1999, he studied ceramic landscape painting under Yuan Shiwen, a Master of Chinese Ceramic Art, and later learned landscape and bird-flower techniques from Chen Wujie, a painter from Shanghai.
In 2010 and 2012, he attended training at the Xingsan Internal Painting School in Hengshui, Hebei, where he received direct instruction from Wang Xisan, the founder of the Ji School of internal painting. After completing his training, he returned to Jingdezhen to create ceramic bottle internal paintings, thereby becoming an external disciple of Wang Xisan, the founder of the Ji School. Coming from a distinguished lineage, in October 2016, Wang Zecheng organized an unprecedented major event: the 37-year reunion meeting of the two first-generation Chinese Masters of Arts and Crafts, Wang Xiliang and Wang Xisan, known as the "Two Kings of the North and South." Both first-generation masters, Wang Xiliang and Wang Xisan, provided him with meticulous guidance and high praise. Master Wang Xiliang, the grandmaster of Jingdezhen ceramic art, after viewing Zecheng's ceramic internal paintings, gladly inscribed for him: "Wang Zecheng creates another world within his paintings," warmly encouraging him to carve out a new realm in ceramic painting. Master Wang Xisan, the grandmaster of internal painting and founder of the Ji School, inscribed for his disciple Zecheng: "Pioneer of Ceramic Internal Painting: Wang Zecheng." Subsequently, the two first-generation masters jointly inscribed for him the four characters: "Yè Jīng Zé Chéng" (Proficiency Through Diligence). Painter Chen Wujie from Shanghai inscribed for his disciple: "The Supreme Craft on Porcelain," offering high acclaim. His works feature a unique style—fresh, elegant, spacious, and profound. He excels in innovative techniques of overglaze, bird-flower, and landscape painting. His works have won numerous gold and silver awards and have been featured in special pages of the "Popular Collection Newspaper," special sections of the "Changjiang Daily - Changjiang Weekly," the cover of "Jiangxi Daily," "Jiangxi Business Daily," "Jiangnan Metropolis Daily," special pages of the "Jingdezhen Daily," "Porcelain Capital Evening News," "News Information Daily," "Entrepreneurship Weekly," and two issues of the "Jingdezhen Ceramic Culture Television Weekly." He has also been interviewed and featured on Jiangxi Satellite TV, Jiangxi Channel 5 ("Di Bao Dangjia"), Jingdezhen News at 8 PM, Jingdezhen TV Channel 1 and 2, and on the website "Zhonghua Ceramic Network." Building upon the foundation of traditional Chinese ceramic art, he boldly innovates, not only pioneering the highly challenging technique of ceramic "bottle internal painting," but also receiving multiple awards.
