Bao Yafu, male, born in 1958, is a first-class art teacher at the secondary school level. He is currently a member and director of the Jiangxi Province Mao-style Calligraphy Association; a member of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Calligraphers Association; a member of the Chinese Hard-Pen Calligraphy Society; a senior calligrapher and painter of China Poetry, Painting, and Calligraphy Network; a member of the Huaxia Boxue International Cultural Exchange Center; a 2020 National Figure of Poetry, Painting, and Calligraphy Excellence; a academician of the Wumen Barya Academy of Painting and Calligraphy; Honorary President of the Guangdong Dongguan Jinyang Academy of Painting and Calligraphy; and a "Dream Partner" of the Guangdong Dongguan Jinyang Academy of Painting and Calligraphy.
He has participated in numerous national and regional calligraphy competitions on multiple occasions and has won awards repeatedly.

Over many years of teaching, he has nurtured numerous outstanding art teachers, renowned painters and calligraphers, and designers, several of whom have become members or vice chairmen of provincial, municipal, and county-level youth calligraphers associations.
Bao Yafu has loved painting and calligraphy since childhood and was praised by teachers and classmates in elementary school for his excellent handwriting. During his tenure at school from 1989 to 2018, he participated in numerous painting and calligraphy competitions organized by educational institutions and other departments, winning awards repeatedly. He regularly practices calligraphy and copies famous masters’ works in his spare time. He specializes in regular script, clerical script, running script, and cursive script. He admires Liu Gongquan and Tian Yingzhang’s regular script, as well as Cao Quan Stele and Liu Bingsen’s clerical script. His clerical script features meticulousness, elegance, unique style, graceful rhythm, balanced yet slightly slanted structure, serene tranquility, and each character avoids duplicate horizontal strokes. His running and cursive scripts exhibit fluid brushwork, ancient and simple forms, with cleverness emerging from simplicity. His composition, structure, brushwork, and ink application are all highly proficient and have earned high praise from peers in the education sector. The path of calligraphy is boundless, and the sea of art is endless; he will persistently pursue excellence, absorb diverse influences, cultivate individuality, and strive for perfection.
