Personal Profile
Liu Yanghui (Lanting Mo Xu), male, Han ethnicity, born in October 1990 in Xingguo, Jiangxi Province. I am an elementary school teacher who has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood and has developed a certain expertise in regular script. I have been selected for the Fourth Jiangxi Province Copying Exhibition, won the First Prize in the Eighth Mocai Cup National Youth Calligraphy Competition, and received the First Prize in the Fourth Provincial Teachers’ Calligraphy Competition, along with the honorable title of “Outstanding Calligraphy Teacher.”
Chinese calligraphy is an ancient art that has evolved alongside the development of Chinese civilization. Among all nations worldwide, very few possess the art of calligraphy. Chinese calligraphy boasts a long history—it is the artistic expression of Chinese character writing. It is not only a cultural treasure of the Chinese nation but also shines uniquely within the global treasury of art and culture.
Calligraphy is created on white paper through the flexible and varied movements of the brush and the richness of ink washes, leaving behind traces that extend the calligrapher’s spirit. The speed, slowness, flight, and pause of the brush become expressions of emotion. Through their works, calligraphers reveal their personal life experiences, knowledge, cultivation, and personality—hence the saying, “The handwriting reflects the person.”
Being a good Chinese, writing good Chinese characters—regular script is suitable for all walks of life and for people of all ages to study. I will steadfastly uphold the original aspiration and belief that art serves the people, and carry forward the traditional art of calligraphy! Let this national treasure of calligraphy enter every household, and lead our ethnic traditional calligraphy art from brilliance to new brilliance!
