Yu He, originally named Zeng Xia, also known as Zeng Zhi, is a painter, poet, and independent artist. She is one of the most thoughtful contemporary female painters. Hailing from Ruijin, Jiangxi, she now resides in Beijing, excelling in poetry, calligraphy, and painting.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Calligraphy) from Capital Normal University and completed the Painting and Calligraphy Creation Research Course at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. She is a member of the Chinese Poetry Society, the China Couplet Society, a Standing Director of the Central Plains Poetry Research Association, a member of the Poetry Society at the Beijing Lanting Institute of Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting, and a member of the Huo Chunyang Traditional Art Research Association.
She studied traditional Chinese painting under Professor Song Weiyuan from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Professor Huo Chunyang from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. Her works are ancient, elegant, ethereal, and imbued with spiritual vitality. Her representative works “Chanting the Moon” and “Dream” were selected for the Danqing Yangzhou National Chinese Painting Exhibition and the 2015 National Chinese Painting Exhibition, both organized by the China Artists Association. She has published “Selected Works of Yu He: Flowers and Birds.”
