Hou Weidong

侯卫东，1966年生于Jiangsu Siyang. He has been passionate about painting and calligraphy since childhood, starting with Tang dynasty regular script, and tracing back to the brushwork of Wang Xizhi, Jin, Tang, Song, and Yuan dynasties. In 1984, he entered the Shanghai Advanced Class of Art and Calligraphy, studying under Shen Roujian, Fang Shicong, and Zhang Peichu. He has participated in various calligraphy exhibitions at provincial, municipal, and county levels, achieving notable success. Currently a member of the China Jinwang Painting and Calligraphy Academy, a member of the Chinese Folk Artworks Appraisal Committee of the Ministry of Culture. He was awarded the title of "Chinese Art Master" by the American Stamp Company. A member of the Suqian Calligraphers Association, in July 2017, he was selected for the "Respect to Classics" Suqian Calligraphy Exhibition.
