Liu Xinling, with the studio name Shouzhu Tang, is from Zhumadian, Henan. In the early 1980s, he joined the military and was inspired by General Wang Yufeng, former president of the Navy Command College. He has received guidance from renowned teachers such as Xiao Xian, Chen Dayu, and Wu Zhongqi. Later, he studied under Zhang Bingwen, a disciple of Lin Sannian and a famous artist. He is currently a senior art teacher at the China Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, a member of the Jiangsu Province Calligraphers' Association, a specially appointed calligrapher at the Jiangsu Provincial Calligraphy Research Institute, an honorary president of the Oriental Art College, and vice chairman of the Pukou District Calligraphers' Association in Nanjing. His works have been selected for exhibitions by the Chinese Calligraphers' Association and provincial and municipal calligraphy exhibitions, and he has participated in Chinese-Japanese, Chinese-Korean, and Chinese-Singaporean calligraphy exchange exhibitions, winning awards. His works are included in "The Collection of Representative Masters of Contemporary Chinese Painting and Calligraphy", "The Collection of Contemporary Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Masterpieces", and "The Directory of Modern Chinese Calligraphers and Seal Carvers".
