He is a specially appointed painter of the Jiangsu Masses Calligraphy Academy, vice chairman of the Office Calligraphy Expert Guidance Committee of the Youth Work Department of the China Association for the Science of Life, and a national first-class painter. Lu Jianbin has loved painting since childhood, especially admiring the modern painter and art educator Xu Beihong, who was particularly fond of "Galloping Horse". Influenced by him, he established his own creative ideas, and he looked down upon those who only focused on brushwork without seeking innovation, believing that only through constant innovation and realistic pursuit of truth could the artistic sentiment and ink charm of Chinese literati calligraphy be fully expressed. He studied painting diligently, and under the help of art teachers at the time, he was tirelessly engaged in basic painting training. During this period, he also practiced copying Xu Beihong's "Galloping Horse" every day, struggled hard, and often went to the zoo to draw horses and other animals to improve his sketching ability. He seized every moment, under the guidance of Xu Beihong's disciple Liu Beshu, through persistent efforts and research, his painting skills gradually improved, and he created a series of works with horses as the theme.
