Liu Yunhe, born in 1943, is a native of Sancheng District, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province. He is currently a visiting professor at the School of Arts, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Yantai University Wenching College, and the School of Arts, Ludong University. He is a member of Xiling Seal Art Society, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a member of the second and third term board of directors of the Jiangsu Calligraphers Association, vice chairman of the second term and consultant of the third term of the Nanjing Seal Art Society, and a member of the sixth term committee of the Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles.He was a student of senior calligraphers such as Sha Manweng, Chen Shourong, Ding Jifu, and Sun Longfu. He has devoted himself to the study of history and calligraphy theory, and is skilled in calligraphy, seal carving, and philology. He pursues the style of stability and elegance in seal script, solemnity and vitality in clerical script, and roundness and freedom in cursive script. His seal carving is based on ancient seals and Han dynasty seals, and he selects widely and condenses the best, creating his own unique style with thick and simple features. His calligraphy and seal carving have been exhibited in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and have been published in relevant publications and collected by relevant museums. Published works include: "Academic Collected Works of Liu Yunhe", "Continuation of the Collected Works", "Modern Seal Carving Selection" (co-edited), "Compendium of Seals of Modern Seal Carvers", "Collected Works of Seals of Master Liu Yunhe" (three volumes, including the seal works of Fang Jiekan, Chen Shourong, and Sha Manweng), "Seal Carving of Liu Yunhe", "Differentiating Small Seal Script", and "Calligraphy Collection of Liu Yunhe". The "Suqian City Chronicle" edited by him won the "Second Prize of the National Local Chronicles Award" granted by the China Local Chronicles Guidance Group and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.In 1996, the "Bawang Ding" (King of the Warlords Tripod) was cast in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, the hometown of Xiang Yu. It is 2.6 meters high, 1.9 meters in diameter, and weighs 8 tons. It is known as the first bronze tripod in China. The inscriptions on both sides are written in seal script by Liu Yunhe.
