Personal Profile

Shi Meifang, pen name Jingbi, Mofang, also known as Chengyuan. Born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, her ancestral home is Taixing, now resides in Beijing, a member of the Communist Party of China, graduated from the Department of Journalism at Suzhou University, and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature through the National Higher Education Self-study Examination. She has worked as a journalist and editor at Jiangsu Workers' Daily and the East Legal Guide Journal Editorial Department. She once served as Director of the Cultural Arts Center of the Energy Channel of CCTV.com, and is currently a member of the Changping District Calligraphers Association of Beijing, Secretary-General of the Hanmo Fang Art and Calligraphy Institute of Beijing, member of the China Professional Calligraphers Association, member of the China People's Artist Association, member of the Chinese Couplets Association, academician of the China Guoyi People's Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, and national first-class calligraphy teacher. In September 2017, she was selected as the most influential calligrapher nationwide for China's Good Brand. Her work "The Unity of the Nation, the Bowl to Realize the Chinese Dream" was successfully registered in the Guinness World Records by participating in the National Hundred Calligraphers Competition, and received widespread praise. Many of her works are collected by many calligraphy enthusiasts, and she has cultivated many calligraphy enthusiasts and a large number of future young calligraphers in China. Her works pursue perfection, ancient simplicity, and naturalness, with elegant beauty in every character, clear and upright style, and require a sense of righteousness. She advocates that writing should be like being a person, and must achieve: heart right, person right, body right, and character right. She promotes writing standard characters and being a standard person. She is skilled in small regular script, long scrolls, and couplets. She has profound research on the layout, brushwork, techniques, and calligraphy theory of regular script, clerical script, cursive script, and stele scripts, as well as how to educate and cultivate people. She has a deep foundation in writing and literary skills.
