Hou Yong (First-Class Artistic Professional) Hou Yong, styled Yongjun, was born in Lixin, Northern Anhui, and grew up in Nanjing, Jiangnan. He has been engaged in the study, creation, and research of Chinese painting, calligraphy, and seal carving for thirty years, excelling in painting, calligraphy, seal carving, and poetry. Mr. Hou Yong is currently a First-Class Artistic Professional, Director of Nanjing Jie Rui Xuan Art Academy, Director of Suzhou Seal Carving Art Collection Museum, Vice Chairman of China Poetry Painting and Calligraphy United Network, Member of the China National Painter's Association, Member of the Chinese Portrait Seal Research Association, and Member of the China International Arts and Literature Association. Mr. Hou Yong is an academic-type artist. In addition to his creative work in Chinese painting, calligraphy, and seal carving, he also attaches great importance to the study of art theory, with abundant writings. In recent years, important papers published in major professional newspapers include: "The 'Metal and Stone Qi' in the Creation of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Art", "A Preliminary Discussion on Visual Impact", "On Minority Seals from the Perspective of Ethnology", "On Folk Seals from the Perspective of Folklore", "Chinese Sealing as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World", "Assessment of the Artistic Value of Chinese Seals", "The World-Level Intangible Cultural Heritage Attribute of Chinese Sealing Art", "Key Points for Identifying Seals of Literati Schools", "Authentication and Differentiation of Famous Seal Carving Works". His published monographs include: "Hou Yong's Art of Painting, Calligraphy, and Seal Carving", "China's Hundred Seal Carvers - Hou Yong Volume", etc. Mr. Hou Yong's works in painting, calligraphy, and seal carving have been invited to exhibit in the United States, France, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and are collected by many public and private institutions at home and abroad.
