Liu Chunming

       Liu Chuanming, born on February 13, 1964 (the first day of the first lunar month) in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, is the son of Haian, Jiangsu. His courtesy name is Longzi, and his pseudonym is the Master of Jinshui Studio. In 1980, he joined the Wuxi Erquan Painting Academy to engage in artistic creation. In 1984, he entered the Department of Fine Arts at Jiangsu Institute of Literature and Art. In 1990, he joined the Advanced Research Class for Figure Painting at the Chinese Painting Department of the China Academy of Art. He is currently a National Level Artistic Master, member of the China Artists Association, member of the China Arts and Crafts Society, member of the Jiangsu Artists Association, guest professor at the School of Visual Arts, Tsinghua University, special expert of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of Beijing United University, researcher of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of Jiangnan University, guest professor at Wuxi Vocational Technology College, guest professor at Wuxi Taihu College of Arts, deputy secretary-general of the Wuxi Branch of the Jiangsu Flower-and-Bird Painting Research Association, deputy secretary-general of the Wuxi Zhongshan Painting Academy of Minge, and a specially appointed calligrapher and painter at the Wuxi Calligraphy and Painting Academy.

    Since holding his first solo exhibition in 1984, he has held more than 30 solo and group exhibitions in places such as the United States, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the Capital Museum, Beijing United University, the Shanghai Duoyunxuan, the Qinghai Museum, the Wuxi Museum, the Chengdu Wuhou Temple Art Gallery, the Chongqing Art Gallery, the Shanghai Art College Art Gallery, the Wuxi Art Gallery, the Suzhou Yingshan Lake Art Gallery, the Jinan Art Gallery, and the Hualien County Art Gallery in Taiwan.

In October 2017, the "19th Shanghai International Arts Festival Wuxi Sub-venue — 'A Gentle Breeze Comes' Liu Chuanming Art Exhibition" was displayed at the Wuxi Art Gallery, hosted by the Shanghai International Arts Festival Organizing Committee and the Wuxi Municipal People's Government.

At the end of December 2017, the "Spring Fills the World — Liu Chuanming Art Exhibition" was held at the Suzhou Yingshan Lake Art Gallery, hosted by the Suzhou Chinese Painting Academy and the Wuxi Zhongshan Painting Academy of Minge.

In October 2018, the "20th China Shanghai International Arts Festival Wuxi Sub-venue — 'A Gentle Breeze Comes' Liu Chuanming Art Exhibition" was displayed at the Wuxi Yiwentian, hosted by the Shanghai International Arts Festival Organizing Committee and the Wuxi Municipal People's Government.

His works have participated in the "Questioning Ink: Ten Contemporary Chinese Painters' Works Exhibition" (Second Session), hosted by the Anhui Provincial Artists Association and the Anhui Provincial Painting and Calligraphy Academy, among others, and were displayed at the Hefei Jyūryōmi Art Museum in November 2012.

His works have participated in the "Questioning Ink... Ten Contemporary Chinese Painters' Works Exhibition" (Third Session), hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Sichuan Provincial Artists Association, and others, and were displayed at the Chengdu Wuhou Temple Art Gallery in December 2013.

His works have participated in the "Questioning Ink... Ten Contemporary Chinese Painters' Works Exhibition" (Fourth Session), hosted by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Artists Association and the Guilin Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and were displayed at the Guilin Art Gallery in November 2014.

His works have participated in the "Questioning Ink... Ten Contemporary Chinese Painters' Works Exhibition" (Fifth Session), hosted by the Chongqing Artists Association and the Chongqing Painting Academy, and were displayed at the Chongqing Art Gallery in October 2015.

His works have participated in the "Questioning Ink... Contemporary Chinese Painting Masters' Works Exhibition" (Sixth Session), hosted by the Publicity Department of the Wuxi Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Wuxi Branch of the China Democratic League, and the Jiangsu Artists Association, and were displayed at the Wuxi Museum in December 2016.

His works have participated in the "Questioning Ink... Contemporary Chinese Painting Masters' Works Exhibition" (Seventh Session), hosted by the Shanghai Artists Association and the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, and were displayed at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts Art Gallery in November 2017.

In March 2019, he was awarded the title of "National Annual Art Role Model" by "People's Art". His works have been introduced in specialized columns in publications such as "Jiangsu Painting Journal", "Calligraphy and Painting", "Art World", "Literature and Art News", and "Art News".

His works have been published by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Press as a recommended textbook for universities across the country, and by the Jilin Art Publishing House as a teaching model for famous artists in higher art colleges across the country. He has published more than twenty personal art collections.
