Personal Profile

Chen Wenyun, originally named Chen Xi, was born in 1990 in Jiangsu Suzhou. She moved with her parents to Henan since childhood. She is passionate about painting and calligraphy, and showed extraordinary painting talent at a young age. She was guided by the famous painter Chen Tianran, and won special prizes in various painting and calligraphy competitions. She graduated from the School of Arts, Henan University, and studied in the advanced research class of the Academy of Chinese Painting, Tsinghua University, under the guidance of the famous landscape painter Professor Hu Yilong. She is currently a member of the Henan Artists Association, a national first-class artist, and a member of the Board of Directors of the China Bird-and-Flower Painting Association. Wenyun's meticulous brushwork is delicate, her freehand style is grand and steady, her brushwork is lively, and her style is highly personal. Her works have won awards in major exhibitions across the country. "The Rising Sun" received a nomination award in the 12th National Cultural Exhibition in 2012. "National Beauty and Heavenly Fragrance" won an excellence award in the 2015 Young Artist Competition. "The Magnificent Mountains and Rivers" won the gold prize in the National Art Exhibition in 2017. In 2018, she successfully held the solo exhibition "The World of Wenyun" of her ink paintings. Her works were published in the special edition "Ink China", and some of her works are collected by international friends and art collectors from the United States, Singapore, Italy, etc.
