Liu Wenhua, style name Shuilin, the master of Yiranju, with a master's degree, a famous military calligrapher, national first-class calligrapher. Born in February 1958 in Jiangsu Suzhou. He was educated at home from a young age, read extensively poetry and literature, focused on cultural cultivation, and has written many monographs. He is a disciple of Xu Borong, the great master of Chinese calligraphy. For decades, he has been guided by his teacher, practiced extensively the steles and scrolls of famous calligraphers, and studied all kinds of scripts including regular, cursive, seal, clerical, and running script. He has profound insights into the cursive scripts of Wang Xizhi, Zhang Xu, and Huai Su, especially skilled in large characters. His calligraphy is deep, with iron lines and silver hooks, strong and vigorous, with strict structure, both bone and spirit, well-arranged layout, with ups and downs. Currently, he is vice president of Xu Borong Art Museum, member of the Chinese Calligraphy Research Association, member of the China International Celebrity Artists Federation, member of the Qingyun Painting and Calligraphy Academy of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, president of Beijing Economic and Trade Academy, and vice president of Lin Yu Tang Art Academy in Suzhou. He is also the chief calligrapher of Ziyunzhai Art Academy in Beijing.
In recent years, taking the "promoting the essence of national culture and demonstrating the magical charm of calligraphy" as his mission, he has been active in the calligraphy world. His works have won more than 20 awards in domestic and foreign calligraphy exhibitions. Some of his works are collected by art galleries, museums (institutes), and embassies abroad. He has won honors in activities such as the 4th China Calligraphy Exhibition in 2013, the Contemporary Masters' Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition in 2014, the Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan in 2015, the Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition of the Central State Organs in 2016, the Calligraphy and Painting Masters' Joint Exhibition in Hainan in 2017, the 100-meter Long Scroll Creation by Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters in 2018, and the 49th Sino-Korean-Japanese Calligraphy and Painting Joint Exhibition in 2019. In June 2019, he held an individual calligraphy exhibition in Paris, France, to support the Chinese women's football team in the World Cup. His works were made into stamps in France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria, and he was awarded the title of "Contemporary Chinese Art Master".
