Hundreds of Art Critiques: The calligraphy and painting works of Teacher Chen Kangkai, with the bone of Buddhism inside and auspiciousness outside, the calligraphy and painting reveal the path to enlightenment. A flower is a world, when creating flowers, it is not about exquisite technique or formal brushwork, but rather allowing them to spread freely, whispering to themselves or feeling lonely and self-pitying. Those who view the paintings see the world, and more importantly, they reflect on their inner selves; the fragrance remains or not. A leaf is a Bodhi, when displaying characters, it is not about strict rules of Xi Zong or solemn laws of Xian, but rather like the great wisdom of Tathagata illuminating all, or heavy like mountains, or subtle like streams. The characters are like paintings, inspiring thoughts and self-reflection, and in a moment of confusion, one naturally understands: calligraphy is like auspicious clouds circling, and the paintings are truly free and easy!
