Liu Yunhe, from Suqian, Jiangsu, born in 1943. A member of the Communist Party of China. Member of Xiling Seal Art Society, member of Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of the second and third term boards of Jiangsu Calligraphers Association, vice president of the second term of Nanjing Seal Art Society, member of the sixth term committee of Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Previously served as director of the Local Chronicle Office of Suqian City (county level) in Jiangsu Province, spent 10 years to compile a 1.6 million-word county-level "Suqian City Chronicle", and won the "Second Prize of the National Local Chronicle Award" in 1997, awarded by the Chinese Local Chronicle Guidance Group and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Later transferred to the newly established city-level Suqian City Federation of Literary and Art Circles as secretary-general. Retired and lived in Yantai. Served as visiting professor at Yantai University College of Arts and Economics, School of Arts of Ludong University, and School of Art of Tsinghua University.
Liu Yunhe learned calligraphy and seal carving from senior masters such as Chen Shourong, Sha Manweng, and Sun Longfu, combining theory with practice. His calligraphy is skilled in seal script, clerical script, running script, and cursive script. His seal carving is based on Han seals, drawing widely and seeking a style of grandeur and elegance. His works have been exhibited, published, and collected by museums both at home and abroad. Published works include: "Academic Collection of Liu Yunhe" (including "Supplement"), "Modern Seal Selection" (co-edited), "Comprehensive Collection of Modern Seal Carvers", "Seal Collection of Fang Jiekan, Chen Shourong, and Sha Manweng" (three volumes in one set), "Liu Yunhe's Seal Carving with Small Seal Script Identification" etc.
