Guo Qing, style name Qingqing, pseudonym Lan Zhu Tangzhu. Born in Suzhou in 1944, graduated from Suzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1962 with a major in Chinese painting.

In 1965, he was conscripted into the army, and his art works were often published in military newspapers during his time in the army. After retiring from the army in the 1970s, he worked in enterprises and government agencies, continuing to create paintings in his spare time. At that time, he painted landscapes and birds and flowers. Soon after, he met Master Jiang Fengbai, and became a close friend and mentor. Influenced by Master Jiang, he learned the unique styles and techniques of Shi Tao, Badashanren, and Zheng Banqiao.
As he grew older, in order to achieve a higher level in his art, for decades, especially after retiring from the office in 2002, he began to focus on ink bamboo and orchids, and studied the artistic interest of brushwork and ink, emphasizing atmosphere, integrating poetry, calligraphy, and painting. His brushwork is characterized by a balance of strength and softness, with rich and vivid ink, gradually forming his own style.
He has held group exhibitions and solo exhibitions in Jiangsu and other places, and has published albums such as "The Affection of Comrades", "Selected Works of Contemporary Chinese Art Masters", and "The Fragrance of Orchids and Bamboo".
Recent works such as "Bamboo Green All Year Round" and "Orchid and Bamboo Together, Fragrance Lasts Long" have been collected by collectors.
Personal Honors
September 2017 won the Silver Award at the 10th China Chongyang Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition;
October 2017 won the Excellent Award at the China-Australia Twin Cities Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition;
November 2018 eighteen of his works were adopted by the China Post Office Center, and his works, portraits, etc., were officially included in the "One Belt One Road Chinese Dream" collection postage stamp album and published the postage stamp album;
December 2018 was awarded the title of "Chinese Art Wealth Figure" by the Chinese Art Wealth Figures Evaluation Committee;
January 2019 won the Gold Award in the First National New Literati Calligraphy and Painting Artists' Excellent Works Exhibition, his works were collected, and he was awarded the title of "Top 100 Chinese Painters";
