The following year, he was admitted to the postgraduate program in calligraphy at Nanjing Normal University, under the tutelage of Professor Wei Tianchi. Later, Teacher Chen Zhongming remained at the university as the head of the calligraphy department until his retirement. During this period, he often received guidance from Teacher Chen Zhongming, which helped him establish a calligraphy style mainly focusing on cursive script and semi-cursive script, with clerical script and large seal script as supplementary elements. After graduating from high school, he was fortunate enough to be a disciple of Wei Tianchi and Lin Sanzhi, thus establishing an inseparable bond with calligraphy. His works are deeply loved by collectors. In October 2020, he was awarded the title of "Outstanding Model Figure in Chinese Art" by the Art Master Data Center, Shidai Calligraphers Network, and China Ink and Vermilion Newspaper.
The works of Teacher Huang Pin emphasize the beauty of the composition form. His cursive script works are smooth in brushwork, with rich variations in ink and brush, combining central stroke and side stroke. Large characters feature grand momentum and varied ink usage, giving the impression that there are characters on the paper, colors within the characters, rhythm within the colors, and paintings within the rhythm. His cursive script works are like flowing clouds and water, completed in one breath. The interplay of void and solid, thick and thin, creates a brisk rhythm, with undulating changes and unpredictable transformations, offering people an artistic enjoyment that transcends self.
His clerical script works are flat in structure, with strong characteristics of seal script in the writing, giving a sense of weightiness and stability. The forms of the characters carry the style of Han bamboo slips and Wei steles, maintaining elegance and dignity while also exuding a grand and solemn charm.
