Guo Mingzhao

Guo Zhaoming; pen name Yangluozhou native. National First-Class Artist: Vice Chairman of the China Artists Federation. Council Member of the China Calligraphy, Painting and Photography Association. First-Class Calligrapher and Painter. Professor at the Training Center. Hunan Yuanjiang City Artists Association Member. Renowned Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Artist. Founder of the Dongtian Painting School. From childhood, he was deeply influenced by family tradition, beginning with seal carving before progressing to calligraphy, painting, and poetry. Born in 1963 in Yangluozhou Town, Yuanjiang City, Hunan. In 1999, he became a disciple of Mr. Li Guixiang from Guilin, Guangxi, known for his colorful ink landscape style. In 2003, he established the Guo Zhaoming Calligraphy and Painting Studio. In 2005, he pioneered the concepts of “Contemporary Chinese Painting: Two-Level Color Ink Technique” and “Contemporary Calligraphy: Thirteen Structural Forms.” In 2009, his work was selected for the National Invitation Exhibition “Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the Motherland.” In 2010, his work was selected for the Second “Yellow River Soul” Fine Art Creation Exhibition. In 2011, he published the paper “Two-Level Six-Pin”; his work was exhibited in the First Tianyan Mountain Cup; in July 2011, he joined the China Seal Carving Art Forum and Chinese Poetry Association. In March 2012, he won the Second “Contemporary Xi Zhi Award” Gold Prize in Calligraphy. In April 2012, he won the Second Prize in Calligraphy at the Fourth Huaxia Wu Zhuangyuan Calligraphy Competition. In August 2012, he won the “Outstanding Award in Chinese Painting” at the First “Shenzhou Cup.” In November 2012, he won the “Outstanding Award in Calligraphy” at the Second China Folk Calligraphy and Painting Masterpieces Exhibition. In December 2012, he won the Gold Prize in Calligraphy at the Second “Dingsheng Zhonghua” Domestic and Overseas Calligraphy, Painting, and Photography Exhibition (Special Invitation Category). From 2013 to 2017, he devoted himself exclusively to calligraphy and painting creation, achieving remarkable success and widespread acclaim in the art collection community, particularly in oracle bone seal carving.
