Personal Profile
Huang Xianbin, pen name Qiaofu, styled Xiaopu. Born in 1973 in Sichuan Dazhou, he has loved calligraphy since childhood. He sustains his life by farming, raising chickens and ducks, and his family is extremely poor; unable to afford paper, he uses old newspapers and practices with branches on the ground. For over thirty years, he has persisted unwaveringly in writing, resting when tired and pondering how to improve his brushwork. He has previously studied the styles of Wang Xizhi, Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan, Ouyang Xun, the Cao Quan Stele, the Zhang Qian Stele, and others.
His calligraphy work was selected for the Silver Cup Silk Road Pearl, Charm Yinchuan National Tourism, National Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition, October 2018.
His work was selected for the Dazhou City "Passing Down Family Teachings, Cultivating Family Values" exhibition, October 2018.
