Tong Shiming: Born in 1959 in Huayuan County, Xiangxi. Art name Wuling Jushi, studio name Wuling Shanju. After graduating from the Fine Arts Department of Huaihua College, he has long been engaged in mass art work. He has furthered his studies in landscape painting at Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts (formerly Central Academy of Applied Arts) and Beijing Rongbaozhai Academy of Painting, under the tutelage of renowned artists Zhang Ting, Li Yan, and Cheng Dali. He is currently a council member of the Hunan Provincial Artists Association, Associate Professor at Shandong Academy of Art and Design, Vice President of the China New Ink Art Research Association, and Vice President of the Beijing Institute of Ink Painting. His work "People of the Border Town" won the National Cultural Ministry's Qunxing Award. His works are collected by the National Museum of China, the Beijing Municipal Government, the Great Wall Museum, the Hunan Provincial Art Museum, the Shenzhen Cultural Center, the Xiangxiu Group, and the Shanghai Zhongmin Group. He has also been invited to conduct artistic visits and field sketching activities in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, and Germany.
