Personal Profile

Xiao Tianbao, also known as Xiao Lilong, with the art name Yunshi Jushi, was born in 1964 in Yanchong Group, Sanjiao Village, Zuoshi Township, Hengnan County, Hunan Province, a descendant of Jie Gong. In October 1980, he enlisted in the military and served in the Special Forces Company of Unit 54253 on the Guangxi border.

He is currently Vice President of the Beijing Contemporary Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, a member of the Hong Kong China Artists Association,Director of the China Art Masters Association, Senior Training Instructor of the Chinese Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, National First-Class Artist, Member of the Hunan Provincial Artists Association, Member of the Hunan Provincial Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, Member of the Hengyang City Artists Association, Standing Director of the Hengyang City Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, and Deputy Principal and Director of the Employment Office at Hengyang Yihua Computer School.

The appraisal value of his paintings and calligraphy works is: RMB 2,000 per square foot in the domestic market, and USD 300 per square foot in the international market.

In 2017, he was awarded the title of "Outstanding Instructor" and granted an "Authorized Training Institution" certificate.
His works have been exhibited and awarded multiple times in provincial and municipal galleries. In December 2016, he participated in the exhibition "Ink and Color, Splendid Xiao Xiang," where his painting "High Mountains and Long Waters" was displayed in a joint exhibition of Hengyang, Chenzhou, and Yongzhou cities.
In 2017, his painting won the Bronze Award in the National Calligraphy and Painting Competition.
In 2017, at the Second Chinese Calligraphy and Painting "Hanmo Shengshi Cup," his work "Red Plum with Feeling" won the Silver Award.
In July 2017, his work "One Sail with Favorable Winds" under the Belt and Road Initiative won the Silver Award.
In 2018, his work "Fu Mountain Bestows Auspiciousness" won the Silver Award in the "Hundred Flowers Welcome Spring" exhibition.
In March 2018, his work "Vast Cloud Seas and Magnificent Mountains" won the Silver Award in the Third National Hanmo Shengshi Cup.
