Personal Profile
        Liao Peiqiu, styled Daoquan, also known as Jiugong Recluse, was born in 1971 in Liuyang, Hunan. He graduated from Wuhan University of Science and Technology in 1997 and completed the Advanced Research Program at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University in 2016, studying under Professors Wang Yugu and Sun Kai. He is a member of the Hunan Artists Association and the Hunan Ink-wash Painting Society. In 2016, his work "Clear Mountains with Feeling" was exhibited at Tsinghua University; in the same year, "Winding Path to Seclusion" was selected for the 2nd National Chinese Painting Exhibition "I Love Danqing." In 2018, his work "Pure Mountain and Serene Atmosphere" won the Third Prize in the Hunan Province "Happy Xiao Xiang" Fine Arts, Calligraphy, and Photography Excellent Works Exhibition. Also in 2018, his work "Boardwalk" was exhibited in the Hunan Province "New Era, New Hunan" Fine Arts, Calligraphy, and Photography Excellent Works Exhibition, hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. In 2019, his work "Jinbian Creek Flowing" was selected for the Hunan Province Excellent Fine Arts Exhibition commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and welcoming the 13th National Art Exhibition!
