 Wen Kuiyun, styled Hongkai, was born in 1958 in Hunan. He has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood, often memorizing and practicing by hand; he began his calligraphy training at the age of 10. In the 1970s, he joined the military and frequently participated in various calligraphy competitions within the army. In the 1980s, he embarked on a professional career and, in his spare time, attended calligraphy training courses, significantly elevating his calligraphic skills; he regularly visited calligraphy exhibitions and exchanged insights with fellow calligraphers. He studied under Master Fan Qingyu, a disciple of Qi Baishi. His award-winning calligraphy works include "Shuidiaogetou: Swimming," "Shuidiaogetou," and "Qinyuanchun: Snow."
         He is currently a member of the Beijing Shenzhou Calligraphy Association and a member of China Central Education Television, Ink and Wash Danqing Academy of Art.
