Personal Profile

Ai Xiongheng, originally from Hubei, born in 1986, a member of the Communist Party of China, a veteran, was instructed in his early years by Mr. Xu Benyi, Chairman of the Hubei Calligraphy Association. He began with clerical script, then strengthened his style through Yan Ti, later specializing in Ouyang Kai script, while also studying the styles of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi. Vice President of the Regular Script Research Association, member of the Liushi Calligraphers Association, Guangxi Calligraphers Association member, council member of the Liuzhou Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, calligraphy instructor at Yingcai Painting and Calligraphy Academy. Proficient in Ouyang Kai script, skilled in Zhangcao script, a direct disciple of Lu Rujie. Has won multiple awards in national competitions: exhibited in the First Liuzhou, Guangxi New Talent Exhibition in 2012; exhibited in the Third Guangxi Copying Ancient Models Exhibition in 2013; nominated for the Charm of the Beibu Gulf Calligraphy Competition in 2015; awarded an excellence prize in the Second Zhangcao Online Competition. When time permits, he diligently studies the Jieziyuan Painting Manual, adheres to tradition, pursues ancient methods, and follows a path that appeals to both refined and popular tastes.
