Wang Jian

Wang Jian, courtesy name: Caofeng. Born in 1956. Master of Caofeng Hall, he has been passionate about painting and calligraphy since childhood. He graduated from the China Institute of Painting and Calligraphy Correspondence University and completed an advanced course in calligraphy (cursive script) at Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. He possesses a very solid foundation in fine arts and calligraphy, pursuing them as his profession, and has extensively traveled to famous mountains and sought instruction from renowned scholars. Currently, he is a Standing Director of the China Institute of Painting and Calligraphy, a member of the China Hard-Pen Calligraphers Association, the China Painting Society, the Hubei Province Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, and the Hubei Province Calligraphers Association. He is also a Visiting Professor at Huaxia National Art Institute of Painting and Calligraphy, Honorary President of the Huang Tingjian Art Society, and serves as a Standing Director and Secretary-General of the Hubei Province Wang Xiaju Painting and Calligraphy Research Association. Since 2015, he has served as Chief Judge of the Hubei Province Military Retirees Office Painting and Calligraphy Evaluation Committee. He studied under Wang Xiaju, Lin Sanzhi, and Deng Shaofeng. In calligraphy, he has won the Second Prize in the “Third National Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition” and the First Prize in the “National Huai Su Cursive Script Cup.” He holds unique insights and profound understanding of calligraphy, particularly cursive script. His fine art works have been frequently selected for national exhibitions. His calligraphy and painting creations have been published in numerous art publications such as “Calligraphy Daily,” and are highly esteemed by art enthusiasts, collected by many art museums and collectors. In particular, his “Heart Sutra” works have been collected by several temples for their scripture libraries. The future appreciation potential of his works is boundless.
