Kang Jiaxian is from Wuhan, Hubei Province. He is the Director and Secretary-General of the Wutangwan Academy of Painting and Calligraphy in Wuhan, Vice President of the China Dongyi Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, a member of the Wuhan Artists Association, a national painter in the China Cultural Art Talents Database, a specially invited artist of China Report, a professional painter at the Hubei Academy of Ink Painting, and a National First-Class Artist.   Kang Jiaxian specializes in Chinese landscape painting, deeply engaging with life and devoting himself to landscape creation. His works predominantly feature themes such as the white mountains and black waters, the Jingchu region, the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, and the rural customs of northwestern Hubei. His compositions are ingeniously conceived, with fluent and expressive brushwork and ink application, dynamic techniques, rich and substantial imagery, and grand, majestic atmospheres—establishing him as a highly accomplished landscape painter.   From 1985 to 2000, his works were exhibited multiple times in Hubei and Wuhan exhibitions of painters’ and calligraphers’ works; In 1986, his work "Echoes in the Valley" was exhibited at the 2nd China-Japan Ink Painting Joint Exhibition; In October 1987, his work won the First Prize at the "China Art Festival — Central-South Fine Arts, Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition"; In 1987, his work was exhibited at the Hubei · Hong Kong Artists' Charity Exhibition of Calligraphy and Painting; In 1988, his work was exhibited at the Hubei · Wuhan · Hong Kong Artists' Exhibition; In 1993, his work "Wild Mountain Vitality" was included in the China Yangtze River Cities Touring Exhibition of Calligraphy and Painting; In 2006, he was invited to Taiwan and Singapore to participate in the 6th China Cultural Arts Exchange Exhibition; In April 2017, he held the solo exhibition "Zhongling Yuxiu — Kang Jiaxian's Chinese Landscape Paintings" and published an art album; In October 2017, China Report featured him in an article titled "Fluent Brushwork, Grand Momentum — Landscape Painting by Kang Jiaxian"; In November 2017, he received the "Special Gold Award" at the National "Belt and Road Chinese Cup" Folk Culture and Art Competition; In October 2017, he was officially listed in the Ministry of Culture’s China Cultural Art Talents Database; In December 2017, he participated in the 13th Wuhan Fine Arts Annual Exhibition; In January 2018, he was recommended by the China Culture and Education Integrity Brand Alliance as an "Integrity Artist"; In January 2018, he was recommended by the China Culture and Education Integrity Brand Alliance as a "Wuhan Integrity Ambassador"; In November 2018, he held the exhibition "Splashed Ink at Wutangwan"; In July 2019, he held the exhibition "Lovely China — Masterpieces of Fine Art"; In October 2019, he will hold the exhibition "Lovely China — Masterpieces of Calligraphy". Over 200 of his works have been published in domestic and international professional journals, and some have been collected by museums and institutions. His biography has been included in the "Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Painters and Seal Carvers," "World Art Collection," "Selected Works of Chinese Young Artists," and "China Writers Talent Database."
