Du Xiurong, female, born in 1956 in Wuhan, Hubei Province. In her early years, she studied freehand-style flower-and-bird painting under the renowned painter Kong Fanyu (graduated from Wuchang Art College), and later continued studying large freehand-style flower-and-bird painting under Professor Wang Xiulong, a distinguished disciple of Duan Muxi (a student of Qi Baishi, graduated from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts), up to the present day. Her works have been exhibited multiple times in major painting and calligraphy exhibitions both within and outside the province, and have won the Gold Award at the National Huaxia Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, the Second Prize at the Cross-Strait Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, the Gold Award at the Hong Kong Art Festival Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, among others. Her works have been published in newspapers such as Hubei Daily and various painting and calligraphy magazines. She has also actively participated in numerous painting and calligraphy public welfare and networking activities. Member of the Hubei Painting and Calligraphy Artists Association, Member of the Hubei Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, Member of the Shouyi Painting and Calligraphy Association.
