Nie Huaming, pen names "Mingtian" and "Mengze," was born in 1958 in Hubei and currently resides in Beijing. With a university education, he is a retired Senior Colonel. He formerly served as Director, Director of Political Affairs, and Political Commissar in a unit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. He currently holds positions as Council Member of the China Traditional Culture Promotion Association, Council Member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, Council Member of the China Hua Xia Ten Thousand Li Journey Association of Calligraphers and Painters, Researcher at the Art Committee of the Sino-Foreign Cultural Figures Art Committee, Vice President of Beijing Qingxin Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Deputy Curator of Beijing Tonghan Art Museum, and Painter at Beijing Shi Qi Art Academy. He has been awarded the qualification certificate of "Senior Elderly Talent" by the Talent Database of the National Working Committee on Aging, and has been listed in the China Cultural and Art Talent Database, being rated as a National First-Class Artist. He previously studied at the Chinese Painting Department of the China Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University, the Shi Qi New Chinese Painting Class at Beijing Academy of Painting, the Advanced Research Class on Painting Theory and Landscape Painting Creation at the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, and the National Exhibition Painting Creation Class at Beijing Aishang Painting Academy. He successively studied under renowned masters Yao Zhihua, Shi Qi, Zhang Peiwu, Han Shaoxian, Xiao Daping, and others. He specializes in freehand brush landscape and bird-and-flower painting. His works feature harmonious integration of ink and color, rich and profound textures, fresh and bright imagery, an uplifting and grand style, and elegant artistic conception—demonstrating both deep traditional roots and strong contemporary spirit. His artworks have participated in major exhibitions such as the "China Poverty Alleviation and Development Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition," the "First China Buddhist Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition," the "First China Online Painting and Calligraphy Competition," the "Kaifeng Landscape Painting Art Exhibition," the "Commemorating the 120th Anniversary of Mao Zedong's Birth – Exhibition of Works by Generals, Ministers and Renowned Calligraphers and Painters," the First "China Ethnic Calligraphy, Painting and Art Expo," the "Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong's Return – National Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition," the "Fifth National Integrity-Themed Painting and Calligraphy Art Exhibition," and the "New Era, New Imagery: 2019 First National Biennial Landscape Painting Exhibition," winning numerous awards. His work "Jiangshan Yongtai" won the Gold Award in the "China Times Style" evaluation event; "Dream Lake Autumn Sounds" received the Contribution Award in Painting and Calligraphy at the "20th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference & Chinese Cultural Awards Ceremony"; and he received the Gold Award in Painting and Calligraphy Performance at the "Singing for the Motherland, Praising Heroes – 2018 First China Outstanding Talents Display Ceremony." His artworks and biographical records have been published in periodicals and magazines including *People's Daily*'s *Times Tide*, *PLA Pictorial*, *Qianwei News*, *Chinese Ink Painting*, *China Volunteers*, *China Nonferrous Metals*, *Urban Fine Living*, *Fashion Weekly*, *Kaifeng Daily*, *Bianliang Evening News*, and *Kaifeng Shang*, as well as dozens of online media platforms. His works have been included in multiple large-scale albums such as *Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Masters* and *The Power of Role Models*, and he has published the *Nie Huaming Painting Collection*.
