 Liu Jinyong, style name Jingzhi, master of Jinyu Studio. Hubei Jingmen native, currently residing in Guilin. Member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, full-time painter at the Guilin Yayuan Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Graduated from the Chinese Painting Landscape Class at Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, under the mentorship of Zhou Shaohua.
For many years, he has devoted himself to the study and creation of traditional Chinese landscape painting, grounding his work in classical techniques while drawing widely from diverse sources and persistently practicing. Later, under the guidance of renowned Guangxi artists Peng Xiaozhi, Lü Yuanzhong, and Li Changtian, he focused primarily on blue-and-green landscape painting, developing a distinctive personal style characterized by natural simplicity and rich, substantial brushwork. In 1996, his work "Cui Valley at Spring Dawn" won the Second Prize at the Hubei Province Exhibition of Paintings and Calligraphy by Young and Middle-Aged Artists. In 2009, his work "Spring Rhythm" received the Third Prize at the Guilin City Ink and Landscape Painting Exhibition. In recent years, he has consistently pursued plein air painting, seeking inspiration from nature; his works exude grandeur and refined elegance, earning widespread recognition and acclaim within the local art community. His calligraphy initially studied the styles of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, absorbed the essence of Mi Fu, and concentrated on the Zhang Qian stele, resulting in an ancient, simple, and solid brush technique with strong individuality.
