   Zha Shiyu (pen name: Mo Qing), male, born in 1945, native of Daye City, Hubei Province, holds a postgraduate degree, member of China Artists Association, member of China Calligraphers Association,National First-Class Artist, Honorary Professor at Oxford Institute of Art, Honorary President of China Artists Association, Lifetime Honorary Chairman of China Contemporary Art Association, Council Member of China Calligraphers and Painters Association, Art Consultant of China International Artists Association, Member of China Calligraphers and Painters Friendship Association, Executive Director of China Guohua Painter Association, Vice President of China Art Collection Association, Honorary President of Chinese Culture Research Institute. He has been awarded more than seventy honorary titles by national cultural departments, the China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, and other institutions, including "Art Master of World Renown," "Pride of Chinese Art," "Contemporary Master of Painting," "Leading Figure in Chinese Calligraphy and Painting," and "Cultural Ambassador of Chinese Culture."        He has loved calligraphy and painting since childhood, beginning formal study at the age of five, and has developed a solid foundation in traditional techniques. He is not only proficient in painting but also deeply accomplished in calligraphy. His calligraphic style is lively, free-flowing, vigorous, smooth, dignified yet graceful, widely admired and highly acclaimed among calligraphy enthusiasts. In painting, prior to the 1980s he primarily worked in oil painting, later shifting focus to traditional Chinese painting, creating works that blend ancient and modern elements as well as Eastern and Western aesthetics. He emphasizes realism and often creates from life studies. Particularly skilled in large-scale landscape paintings, his works have developed a unique personal style, greatly appreciated by art lovers both domestically and internationally, and circulated to over sixty countries and regions, exerting significant influence. Even more admirable are his character and cultivation—broadly knowledgeable, humble, diligent, indifferent to fame and fortune, with excellent personal integrity, earning deep respect.
       In August 2004, Mr. Zha Shiyu’s Chinese painting work “Under the Ancient Banyan Tree” was selected for inclusion in the “10th National Fine Arts Exhibition,” hosted by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and the China Artists Association, fulfilling one of the criteria for membership qualification.
       In December 2009, Mr. Zha Shiyu’s Chinese painting work “Hometown Affection” was selected for inclusion in the “11th National Fine Arts Exhibition,” jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the China Artists Association, meeting the eligibility requirements for membership.
       In June 2020, he received the China Good Brand Influence Five-Star Special Award and the Gold Award Artist honorary title.        His calligraphy and paintings have frequently been selected for important domestic and international art exhibitions, winning numerous major awards. Seventy-two of his creations, including “Ten Thousand Mountains Red All Over” and “Affection for Hometown,” have won top national gold prizes, such as the China Timeless Gold Award and the Hanmo China Gold Award. His works have been included in over one hundred authoritative art albums and biographical dictionaries. A special “Da Hong Pao” monograph titled *Master Painters of Modern and Contemporary China* was published by Tianjin People's Fine Arts Publishing House and distributed nationwide through Xinhua Bookstores.
