  Xu Zhongyin, pen name Gangsheng, male, born in January 1959, from Jingmen, Hubei Province, holds a university degree, is a member of the Communist Party of China, a nationally registered senior calligrapher, Vice Chairman of the International Calligraphers Federation, Honorary Advisor of the Australian Calligraphers Association, Artistic Advisor of the Painting and Calligraphy Creation Committee of the International Youth Civilization Forum, Honorary Advisor of the China International Cultural Exchange Committee, Member of the China Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, Director of the China Art Calligraphers Association, Executive Director of the Jingmen City Calligraphers Association. In 2020, he was officially recommended by the "National Two Sessions" and key organizations including the China Calligraphers Association, the China Artists Association, the China Calligraphy and Painting Magazine, and the China Calligraphy and Painting Art Collection and Authentication Center, receiving the honorary title of "People's Artist". He is currently a contracted painting and calligraphy artist with Famous Artists Art Alliance.
        His calligraphy works have repeatedly won special prizes and gold awards in national competitions. In March 2019, his artworks were included in the thematic publication "Great Journey – Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC", titled "China Postage Album", and were published as postage stamps, philatelic items, and albums acclaimed as "national business cards", issued globally in limited quantities. In August 2020, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance, his works were successfully selected and produced into postage stamps and commemorative collections issued in limited editions across multiple countries including France, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, and the United States. In April 2019, he was awarded the title of "Artist of Merit" by China New Media and China Culture News Network. In December 2019, he received the honorary title of "Elite Figure" in the National Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting Awards. In February 2020, he was specially conferred the title of "Model Figure" among Chinese poets, writers, and calligraphers. In August 2020, he was jointly honored as a "World Peace Artist" by the United Nations World Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation and European and American Philatelic Associations. His calligraphy works have been exhibited in numerous locations such as the Cross-Strait Cultural Relics Palace, the 7th China International Art Expo, the National Exhibition of Works by Masters of Calligraphy and Painting commemorating the 2571st anniversary of Confucius' birth, and Beijing Bank, attracting widespread acclaim among calligraphy enthusiasts and collectors. His works have also been included in more than 20 albums and publications such as "Collection and Appreciation of Works by Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters", "The Second Collection of Fine Works of Poetry, Calligraphy, Painting, and Seal Carving in the New Era", and "Fine Collection of Works from the Cross-Strait Exhibition of Master Calligraphers and Painters". Additionally, he has been specially invited to inscribe titles for several magazines. In September 2020, his artwork was collected at a state gift level by Mustapha Serrajini, head of the diplomatic delegation of ten Arab ambassadors to China, who presented a certificate of collection and took a commemorative photo. It was also collected and photographed by Yang Guodong, former director of the Political Department of the PLA General Staff Headquarters, and Shao Yufeng, adopted daughter of Premier Zhou Enlai and former State Councilor. Furthermore, his works are extensively collected by prominent leaders and well-known enterprises both domestically and internationally, including Beijing Bank, the CEO of Germany's Kavas Company, and Zhu Tongbing, former secretary of the Jingmen Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.       He is enthusiastic about public welfare, frequently visiting nursing homes to use his artistic skills to show love and care for the elderly. He actively participated in the large-scale national touring exhibition titled "United as One, Overcoming the Epidemic" and donated numerous calligraphy and painting works to epidemic relief efforts and elderly care institutions and other major public welfare causes.
