Zhang Xiaoying, from Hubei Huanggang, is a renowned contemporary Chinese calligrapher, a retired police officer, and an avid lover of literature, calligraphy, and traditional Chinese painting. She is currently a National First-Class Artist (Calligraphy), a member of the China Calligraphers Association (Hong Kong Branch), a member of the Hubei Calligraphers Association, President of the Dabie Mountain Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, and a well-known art agent. She has made significant achievements in painting, calligraphy, and literature, and is a highly influential figure in the inheritance of Chinese cultural symbols. Her calligraphy works have been published in a limited-edition stamp album distributed nationwide. She won the first prize in the 10th Online Calligraphy and Painting Competition in 2017 and the first prize in the 1st National Calligraphy and Painting Competition in 2018. In 2018, her running script work "Yueyang Tower Record" won the first prize in the National Day Calligraphy and Painting Competition organized by the Ministry of Public Security. In 2019, a large-scale commemorative calligraphy stamp album celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was released nationwide. Her reported literature and crime-solving feature articles have been published in such magazines as "China Reportage," "China Public Security Newspaper," "Legal Daily," and "Zhiyin."
