Zhao Shixiong
	 Zhao Shixiong,born in 1962 in Wuhan, is a painter and calligrapher. He furthered his studies at the PLA Academy of Arts and the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He serves as Vice President of the Hubei Branch of the Zhongguo Minzhu Ge Ming Gonghe Dang Central Painting Academy, a council member of the Wuhan Artists Association, and a committee member of the Regular Script Committee of the Wuhan Calligraphers Association. He is also a specially appointed Vice President of the Beijing Huazu Painting and Calligraphy Academy, President of the Jiqing Painting and Calligraphy Academy, a specially invited painter of the Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles’ Landscape Painting Research Society, a member of the “Jianghan Eight Friends,” Secretary-General of the Bashan Yeyu Painting and Calligraphy Academy, a council member of the Hubei Painting and Calligraphers Association, and Vice President of the Jiang’an District Artists Association of Wuhan.                In 2013, he was invited by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, Tibet Television, and Beijing University to participate in an art academic exchange in Tibet. He was one of the creators of China’s longest scroll, “The Soul of the Yangtze River” (640 meters), and one of the principal creators of the 240-meter scroll “Thousand Autumns of Loyal Souls.” In 2009, he participated in compiling the textbook “Calligraphy Classroom” issued by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, receiving favorable reviews within the industry.
	        His paintings and calligraphy works have been repeatedly exhibited and awarded in national and provincial exhibitions, and are collected by numerous renowned institutions and collectors.
One: Participated in the annual Wuhan Art Exhibition. Two In November 2014, participated in the exhibition “Four Leisurely Arts” hosted by the Wuhan Artists Association. Three: In September 2015, the work “Restore Our Rivers and Mountains” was selected for the exhibition “National Soul – Chinese Dream,” hosted by the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. Four: On September 15, 2015, the work “Travelers Beyond the Spring Mountains” was selected for the exhibition “Masters of Han River—Contemporary Artists Joint Exhibition.” Five: In 2016, the work “Entering the Scene, Understanding the Meaning, Awaiting the Moment” was selected for the exhibition “Chinese Dream – Wuhan Sentiment,” hosted by the Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Six: In 2016, the work “Ten Thousand Valleys with Trees Touching the Sky” was selected for the exhibition “The World Belongs to All,” jointly held by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the China Artists Association, and the Central Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang at the China National Art Museum in Beijing. Seven: In July 2017, the work “Clouds Rolling, Peaks Colored” was selected for the exhibition commemorating the 110th anniversary of General Xiao Ke’s birth. Eight: In 2017, participated for the fourth time in the “Jianghan Eight Friends” Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition. Nine: In September 2017, the work “Pine Soul” was selected for the “Joint Exhibition of Painting and Calligraphy between Daejeon Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea, and Wuhan,” organized by the Municipal Publicity Department, Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Wuhan Artists Association. Ten: In 2018, held the solo exhibition “Zhao Shixiong: Ink Sketches” at Guanlan Lake, Shenzhen. Eleven: In 2019, the work “Green Pines Stand” participated in the “Chinese Ink Painting Exhibition” co-hosted by China and Singapore. Twelve: In 2019, the work “Gloomy Twilight Over Resolute Pines” was exhibited in the exhibition “Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference,” hosted by the Hubei Provincial Committee of the CPPCC. Thirteen: In 2019, the work “Peaks” was exhibited in the “Hubei Splendid Masterpieces: Outstanding Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition.” Fourteen: In September 2020, the work “Floating Clouds Born from Overnight Rain” was selected for the exhibition jointly organized by the Revolutionary Committees of the Chinese Kuomintang and Literary and Art Federations of Henan, Shanxi, Fujian, and Hubei provinces.
