Qin Yishuo, whose original name is Qin Ling and who is also known as "Xia Weng", was born in March 1968 in Anyang, the birthplace of Oracle Bone Script. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Anyang Normal University and studied at the Hokkaido University in Japan for his postgraduate studies in Architecture Engineering. In his early years, he learned Chinese painting under Peng Yaotang, a disciple of the renowned master Su Wunong of the Lingnan School of Painting, and received guidance from famous artists such as Li Xiongcai, a master of landscape painting, and Su Baijun, a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Over the years, he has been active in the overseas cultural and art circles, holding several personal exhibitions in Japan and organizing Sino-Japanese International Art Exchange Exhibitions. He has been widely reported by mainstream Japanese media such as the Hokkaido Shimbun, NHK National Television of Japan, and AIR'G Radio Station. He participated in the public selection exhibition of the Hokkaido Art Exhibition of Japan and won an excellence award. He was also hired as a lecturer on Chinese ink painting at the Hokkaido Shimbun Cultural Center in Japan. Many of his works have been collected by individuals and organizations in Japan and South Korea.
