 Wei Xiuyin, female, Han ethnicity, was born in 1949 in Lan考 County. She is currently the Deputy Secretary-General of the Henan Branch of the China Poetry and Painting Academy under the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, a First-Class Calligrapher and Painter, Vice Chairman of the Henan Branch of the Chinese Mao-style Calligraphy Artists Association, a member of the Henan Calligraphers Association, a member of the Henan Women Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the Kaifeng Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, Vice President of the Henan Moyun Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and a Academician of the Henan Jinwang Painting and Calligraphy Academy.   Wei Xiuyin's works have won numerous awards in various competitions. One of her peony paintings received the Special Award in Chinese Painting at the First Ethnic Cup International Chinese Overseas Painting and Literature Competition; her Mao-style calligraphy work won the Silver Award at the "Orange Isle Cup" National Painting and Calligraphy Competition, and the piece was collected; she also won the Gold Award at the Fifth Ouyang Xun National Painting and Calligraphy Competition, with her work being collected; she received the Gold Award at the "Birthplace of the Sage of Painting: Celebrating the Spring Festival" National Small-Scale Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Competition; she won the First Prize at the National Painting and Calligraphy Competition on Classical Chinese Poetry, and was awarded the title of "Master of Sinology." Facing these honors, Wei Xiuyin remains calm and composed; in her heart, none of these achievements compare to her profound love for art.
