Liu Youmin, also known as Baiyunshan Recluse, was born in 1952 and is originally from Luoyang. He has been passionate about fine arts since childhood. In 1975, he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Luoyang Normal College and was assigned to work at the Yichuan County Cultural Center. For over thirty years, he has diligently pursued his artistic career, furthering his studies at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts and the China National Painting Creation Class at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Under the guidance of renowned masters, he has developed a unique artistic vision, skillfully integrating watercolor and gouache techniques with traditional Chinese ink painting methods, resulting in a distinctive style that is both fresh and substantial. His works have won the Gold Award at the First International "Shaolin Cup" Fine Arts Exhibition and the Second Prize at the China News Service and National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference's "Chinese Landscape" Fine Arts Exhibition. His artworks are collected by institutions such as China Calligraphy and Painting Press and Dunhuang Art Museum, as well as private collectors. He is currently a member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, a First-Class Artist, and Honorary President of the Heluo Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute.
