Zheng Lan, female, Hui ethnicity, born in 1951 in Kaifeng. Graduated from the China Calligraphy and Painting Academy in 1998. Specializes in Zhangcao calligraphy, studying under Master Tian Qinggang; in traditional Chinese painting, particularly floral and bird subjects, initially studied under contemporary master Zhang Shijian, later apprenticed under Mr. Xu Yuqing, former chairman of the Kaifeng Artists Association. Her calligraphy and painting works have been published in the Bianliang Evening News and China Calligraphy Guide. Her calligraphy was selected for the anthology "Chinese Famous Artists' Masterpieces in Calligraphy and Painting," and her painting "Chrysanthemums on the Cliff" is collected by the Great Xiangguo Temple in Japan. In 2013, at the National Calligraphy and Painting Competition commemorating the 120th anniversary of Mao Zedong’s birth, her calligraphy work won the Gold Award and was included in the anthology "Ink and Color Praise the Great Leader." In addition to her passion for calligraphy and painting, she is also deeply fond of Peking Opera and can paint while singing simultaneously. Due to her multifaceted talents, she serves as a member of the Art Committee of the China Public Relations Association, a member of the China National Artists Association, a member of the Henan Provincial Calligraphers Association, a council member of the Henan Provincial People’s Committee for Ethnic Affairs Calligraphy and Painting Academy, a specially invited calligrapher and painter for the Kaifeng Municipal People’s Congress, secretary-general of the Kaifeng Muslim Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and president of the Kaifeng Shuangxin Peking Opera Society.
