Ouyang Lei, courtesy name: Wenchao, studio name: Sanshitang, male, Han ethnicity, native of Xiayang, Henan Province, currently residing in Zhengzhou. Professional painter, Vice President of the Daoist Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of the Zhengzhou Couplets Association, and member of the Poetry Association. Enlisted in the military in 1990, where he worked in news photography and reporting, and formerly served as a reporter for China Market Economy Daily and Henan Urban-Rural Economic Daily. He has studied the masters such as "Bada Shanren," Qi Baishi, Li Kuchan, and Wu Zuoren, deeply absorbing their essence. He consistently follows the creative principle of "learning from nature, discovering inspiration within, and achieving miraculous artistry," inheriting and promoting tradition. This has endowed his depictions of shrimp, crabs, and fish with refined elegance, natural charm, and a fresh, unstilted aesthetic. His subjects are diverse and drawn from everyday life, often symbolizing peace, good fortune, prosperity, and longevity. His compositions are simple yet dynamic, his color palette elegant, and his brushwork and ink technique masterful, offering an aesthetic appeal that is both refined and accessible, captivating at first glance. His works have been exhibited and awarded prizes in numerous provincial and national art exhibitions.
