Charitable Calligrapher and Painter He Guanyi
He Guanyi, courtesy name Wei, art name Guanyi, studio name Master of Mianhong Pavilion. Currently a council member of the Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting Academy under the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, and Vice President of the China Association of Calligraphy and Painting Masters.
Since childhood, Mr. Guanyi has been deeply passionate about calligraphy and painting. He has visited renowned art academies across the country, extensively learning from the strengths of numerous calligraphers and painters. Later, he became a disciple of Mr. Zhang Zhenjiu, a distinguished calligrapher and painter from Luoyang and a member of the China Calligraphers Association, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the study of calligraphy and painting. His ink painting work “Autumn Colors and Fishermen’s Songs” was published in the Henan Daily on September 21, 2017. His calligraphy and painting works have also been reprinted multiple times by various newspapers and websites. His calligraphy exhibits fluid brushwork, rigorous structure, and a free-and-easy style; his characters are vigorous and powerful, exuding an aura as mighty as lifting mountains and overturning cauldrons! His composition is well-balanced and executed in one continuous flow—truly embodying “form, spirit, and bone.” He fully inherits the styles of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan, absorbs the spirit of Mi Fu and Huang Tingjian, follows the structural rigor of Chang Duo, and emulates the divine essence of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi. Neither ornate nor ostentatious, his works radiate the noble purity of orchids and the proud resilience of plum blossoms! Truly, they possess iron-like strength, resonating with the clear clang of metal and stone; viewing them evokes the sensation of drifting clouds and flowing water, or the rhythm of music without strings! His paintings are grand and majestic, with profound artistic realms that make viewers feel as if they are standing amidst the scenes, their spirits uplifted and hearts at ease! These works reveal his exceptionally high artistic attainments in calligraphy and painting—he is truly a rare master of our time! His uniquely captivating creations have repeatedly won awards in national and international calligraphy and painting competitions and are collected by numerous art academies, institutions, and individuals. Mr. Guanyi is deeply committed to charity and public welfare, frequently donating daily necessities and learning materials to underprivileged students. Most recently, on September 19 and 20, 2017, he donated over 1,900 pairs of sports shoes to Luochuan County Middle School in Yan’an City and Sigou Middle School in Tongchuan City, valued at more than 80,000 yuan! His generous acts have received widespread praise from local governments and school communities alike!!
