Bai Yuxi, pen name Gujin, born in 1957 in Kaifeng, Henan, developed a deep passion for calligraphy art from an early age under the influence of his father. In his early years, he practiced the styles of Yan Zhenqing, Ouyang Xun, and Liu Gongquan. In 1981, he became a disciple of the renowned contemporary calligrapher Mr. Jin Xuan, shifting his focus to Wei stele script and cursive script. In 1988, he graduated from the first cohort of the China Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University. His calligraphy integrates diverse influences while distinctly showcasing his unique style, pursuing boldness and antiquity, eccentricity and elegance, with every stroke revealing solid foundational skill and inner strength. His works have received high acclaim from the calligraphy community and are widely cherished by the public.
