Liu Suping, female, born in 1965 in Kaifeng City, is a member of the Henan Provincial Calligraphers Association and the Henan Provincial Artists Association. She is a specially appointed painter at the Kaifeng Municipal People's Congress Painting and Calligraphy Academy and an experienced mounting artist in Kaifeng. Passionate about painting and calligraphy since childhood, she began with fine-line depictions of court ladies and boneless-style flower-and-bird paintings, then proceeded to study landscapes and animals, excelling particularly in floral and avian themes. In 2006, she became a disciple of Feng Xuesheng, a renowned Henan flower-and-bird painter, focusing specifically on flower-and-bird works, which have won multiple awards in exhibitions both within and outside the province. In 2009, her work "Peaceful Dwelling" received the Outstanding Award at the 13th New Generation Artists Exhibition of Henan Province. In 2010, her piece "Peacock" won the Outstanding Award at the 14th New Generation Artists Exhibition of Henan Province. In calligraphy, starting in 2008, she studied under Shang Hongju, a prominent Henan calligrapher, beginning with Yan Zhenqing’s regular script from the Tang Dynasty, followed by the Han Dynasty’s "Xixia Stele" in clerical script, and the running script of the "Two Wangs" (Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi) from the Eastern Jin Dynasty, practicing with great passion. Later, she became a student of Professor Yang Junmei, a female calligrapher from Henan University, studying the cursive script of Huaisu, the master of grass script from late Tang Dynasty, continuing her studies up to the present day. She is committed to walking the path of painting and calligraphy art for life. In July 2013, she received the Outstanding Award at the 22nd Mass Calligraphy Exhibition of Henan Province. In May 2014, she received the Outstanding Award at the 23rd Mass Calligraphy Exhibition of Henan Province.
